Creating a Positive Culture of Governance

Good governance is like culture
--the example is set at the top, and it is felt throughout the school.  As any experienced Head will report, the quality of his or her relationship with the Board can be a bellwether of how successful the Head's tenure is at the school.

Join Tim Carr and Sheena Nabholz in exploring the principles that enhances the possibility of a sustainable and effective working relationship with the Board.

Two Impact courses are offered in this series. One course is tailored for new and aspiring Heads, covering the foundations of strong Head-Board dynamics. The second course, designed for experienced Heads, delves into more complex governance challenges through case studies and deep discussion, with a focus on sustaining a healthy, productive culture at the top.

AISH’s Leadership Impact courses run for four weeks, with a flexible commitment of approximately 3–5 hours per week. Participants set their own level of engagement while working alongside a cohort of peers. Expert facilitators guide practical, job-embedded discussions and activities designed for immediate application and real-world impact. Curated, relevant resources support your learning, and structured reflection with colleagues deepens the experience.
