AISH Co-CEO Search Announcement

 

The AISH Board of Directors is pleased to announce the launch of the search for our next Co-CEO, following Jeff Paulson’s recent announcement regarding his departure in July 2027. the Board is writing to initiate the search for our next Co-CEo. We want to take this opportunity to thank Jeff for his exceptional service and for his role in successfully launching and modeling our Co-CEO leadership structure.


The Board remains fully committed to our collaborative Co-CEO leadership structure. We have seen firsthand how a shared leadership mandate allows AISH to lead with greater depth, agility, and support for our members. Our priority now is to find a leader who will continue this momentum and serve as a dedicated partner to Sheena Nabholz.


This search is being led by Nada Collins, supported by a committee appointed by the AISH Board of Directors. We are looking for a seasoned leader who has "sat in the chair" as an international Head of School and who thrives in a shared-leadership environment.

Co-CEO Position Description

 

The Organization

The Academy for International School Heads (AISH) is a leading global network dedicated to the professional and personal growth of international school leaders. Our "For Heads, By Heads" mission ensures that our leadership programs, advocacy, and support are designed by those who have lived the experience of the headship.

The Leadership Model

AISH operates under a Co-CEO leadership model. This structure consists of two Co-CEO’s, each working a 75% fractional role of approximately 30 hours per week, who share strategic and operational responsibility for the organization.

The Role

Following Jeff Paulson’s departure in July 2027, we are seeking a new Co-CEO to partner with Sheena Nabholz. We are looking for a leader who thrives in a shared-leadership environment and is ready to pour their experience back into the global community.

Performance Standards

The Co-CEO is evaluated against six core professional standards:

  • Standard 1: Purpose & Strategic Direction

  • Standard 2: Governance

  • Standard 3: Community & Partnerships

  • Standard 4: Communication & Marketing

  • Standard 5: Operational Development

  • Standard 6: Leadership for Learning

 


 

Application and Recruitment Process

 

The deadline for applications is March 31, 2026. Candidates are asked to send the requested materials as early as possible. The Search Committee reserves the right to close the selection process at any time if the right candidate is found. The review of files will begin as soon as applications are received.

  • Letter of Application: Explaining your strengths as a candidate and why you are interested in the AISH Co-CEO position.

  • Personal Statement: A one-page personal statement.
